Does that tree bring back memories? No pic of mom, but wanted to post a pic of something anyway, so here it is. Look at that carpet!!!
Brought mom a big plate from Christmas dinner leftovers: turkey, mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, cornbread and fruit salad. Yum! Fortunately they were serving gravy with the scheduled lunch, so I grabbed some and plopped it all over her lunch. She was not wearing her sling today, and she seemed mostly okay. She was a little shaky at first, but after scarfing almost the entire plate, she was more steady.
She absolutely still recognizes me, but does not know my name unless I prompt her. They ran a test on her on the 23rd for a urinary tract infection, but no results yet. They told me she was getting around mostly okay, but likes to sleep in more.
One of the gals there told me that this morning she brought a bunch of mirrors around for her, and mom wiped one down on her sleeve to clean it up and had a good long look at herself. She does look better and has no problem eating. She can feed herself with or without utensils but sometimes needs some prompting. Unless, of course, it is pie 🙂 Then it is all systems go.
