mom always has busy hands and will attempt to feed herself. not always successful, but when it comes to desserts, she can make it happen.

“Mom needed help with dinner, but she had little trouble with dessert. After she finished I knelt in front of her to see if she would talk to me. No talking, but she took one finger and began patting my lipstick….all over my face, neck, chin. Then she stuck her fingers in my mouth and played with my teeth. Everyone was laughing but she was communicating with me in her own way, and I was thrilled. It was the first time in months that she even acknowledged my presence. She probably didn’t know who I was but that she wanted to touch me was such a blessing.”
