our mom bill passed away peacefully on July 31, 2017. her family was in attendance. she fought a brave fight against Alzheimer’s and its devastating effects. she is now at rest and at peace now. she was 87.
mom had wonderful care at the Silverado Center in Costa Mesa. she was able to maintain a long-time residence there partly due to the generosity of her eldest daughter, Ella, and her husband, John Hermann. the sincere gratitude and thanks from the rest of Bill’s family are extended to them both.
mom lived a quiet life but taught us all many lessons and set an example for us whether she knew it or not or whether we realized it or not. she will be missed, but her legacy will live on in her children and grandchildren. Good-bye, mom.

What a privilege it was to care for mom and now to be sure her wishes are carried out. She will be taken home to her beloved South Carolina, to join her eldest son and her parents. I feel blessed to have been her daughter.
